Walkabout Creek Hotel Caravan Park

Caravan Park - Queensland

Walkabout Creek Hotel & Caravan Park was made famous in Paul Hogan's movie "Crocodile Dundee". Come and enjoy a beer and a meal while checking out the memorabilia at one of Australia's most famous pubs.

The caravan park facilities include: unpowered/powered sites, grassy tent areas, toilets, showers, water, BBQ facilities, camp kitchen, disable facilities, suitable for any size rig.
What a pleasant surprise Original Cocodile Dundee pub relocated to be back on the main road but just like in the movies. New owners (since March 2014) Debbie and Frank have revitalised this iconic landmark. The bar service is spot-on for a bush pub and if pushed Frank will share with you what he knows about the history of the pub and McKinlay in general. My wife and I (70s) are mooching around Queensland in a 5 star Winnebago and when we decided to stay overnight on-route Cloncurry to Winton we were at best apprehensive. Absolutely no need although somewhat rustic in appearance the amenities were spotlessly clean with combined toilet & shower unisex units. The showerheads are the best we have enjoyed at any caravan park in our 6 month journey. A must if traveling on A2 and well worth approx 90km deviation between Julia Creek and Cloncurry if on A6 for Townsville - Mt Isa journey

Well what a great stay. Clean toilets and showers.Great meal in the hotel. Lots of laughter reading the jokes on the walls. So glad we stayed here, managed a drive through site with water and power. Word of warning to fellow travellers get in early, no bookings first in best served.

Still $30 but no meals at the moment . No access to the Dundee’s bar so disappointed

Great stopover. Powered sites and fair amount of room.
