Lake Creek Campground - Wadbilliga National Park

Please note this is 2WD accessible in dry weather only.  It requires 4WD in wet weather.  It is suitable only for tents and camper trailers only - NO Caravans

Lake Creek campground is an idyllic spot for experienced campers to set up base for some adventurous exploration of Wadbilliga National Park. You’ll get away from the crowds, yet still have easy access to all the outdoor activities on offer – swimming, bushwalking, birdwatching, mountain biking, liloing and wildlife spotting.

Plenty of interesting wildlife can be seen in and around this campground, including goannas, platypus, wallabies, kangaroos, echidnas, gliders and possums. Not to mention, glossy black cockatoos and up to 120 other native bird species, so bring your binoculars for some birdwatching.

Be sure to make time to enjoy a picnic at the nearby Wadbilliga River where you may even see platypus swimming in the water hole.

Activities: walking, mountain biking, motor vehicle use, liloing, nude bathing, swimming, astronomy and star gazing, birdwatching, picnics and barbecues

Getting there: Lake Creek campground is along Wadbilliga Road within Wadbilliga National Park. To get there:

  • Take the Princes Highway to Cobargo

  • Turn west onto Wandella Road

  • Turn left onto Yowrie Road follow along onto Bourkes Road then Wadbilliga Road

  • Follow along until you reach Lake Creek campground on the right

Facilities: picnic tables, fire rings (bring your own firewood), non-flush toilets, carpark
