This free overnight rest area is located at the turn off to the Lake George Winery on the northbound side of the highway. It has toilets with disabled access, non-potable water, picnic tables and dogs are permitted. It is noisy as it's beside the highway. It is named after Victoria Cross recipient Private Arthur Stanley Gurney who died in battle in 1942.
This is a great spot close to the highway but the noise is sheltered by bushes on the road side of the camping area. There is level sites close to the bushes. It is a large area with picnic tables surrounded by trees and there are even some tables and camping sites under the trees.
Beautiful spot thank you. Some flat areas on solid ground
to the platform are logged to ensure unauthorised access to the service does not occur. Copyright (C) 2019-2020
