At the station’s Tourist Park, the ringing of the station’s bell by Manager Ken Godfrey, signals happy hour at the licenced Bar, and the start of many an entertaining evening during its busy season.

The Park’s visitors can choose to stay in accommodation units or the camp grounds in a picturesque Cape York setting, adjacent the original homestead and cattle yards.

The Bramwell Station Tourist Park is just 6km off the main road to the Tip – the Bamaga Road. The Station Bar has live entertainment for the busiest months of the season and offers good station meals to go with a cold beer or glass of wine. Park Manager Ken often starts the evenings off with a station chat during happy hour to introduce the property to visitors.

We stayed for a night before we headed south. Feel it is a little over rated. We love a good basic meal, so had no issue with the smorgasbord itself, but the quality was pretty ordinary. Entertainment was ok and did enjoy the singing. Showers we had were cold, even though they were supposed to be hot… not that it was an issue as we enjoyed the shower regardless. Lights in ladies showers didn’t work so couldn’t see to go to loo after dark. The ants would carry you away and got into everything so make sure you spray your camp and bedding well before you hit the sack for the night. A little run down
