Bedrock Village Caravan Park

Caravan Park - Queensland

Located in the historic township of Mount Surprise, some 320km south-west of Cairns, lies Bedrock Village Caravan Park & Tours. The region, known as Savannah Way, offers a diverse range of outback experiences including cattle stations, gorges, the Savannahlander train and the Undara Lava Tubes. The folk at Bedrock Village run a variety of tours to highlight these unique places in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Designed and built in 1998 by Joe and Jo Lockyer on nine acres of bushland, Bedrock Village offers travellers a comfortable and attractive base from which to enjoy the abundant natural treasures in the region.

Very good park for a very small town. Main reason for staying here is the excellent tours of the Lava Tubes that park managers arrange with Savannah Guides. These tours differ from the Undara tours by way of being a less commercialised experience. Must have a good level of fitness to undertake, but well worth it. Also a point of embarkation for the Savannahlander train. Very good facilities offered, including nice swimming pool, good amenities. The dump point is in the main street of town but not far.

Excellent park. Unexpected in such a small town. Jo and Joe have done an absolutely marvellous job in setting up the park. You don't have to go anywhere to get anything. The staff are very friendly and obliging and are obviously passionate about the park and owners. Very dog friendly and they even look after your dog while you are on tours. Facilities are spotless.

Fantastic place to stay in such a small town . Everything on hand at the park. Tours are terrific and very friendly staff. Could not fault . TV reception limited to 4 analogue stations but never used, too much else happening every night. Highly recommend.
