Koombooloomba National Park Bush Camp Area

National Park - Queensland


Camping area features: adjacent to Koombooloomba Dam.

Location: 14 km from the entrance to the national park adjacent to Koombooloomba Dam. Follow the bush camping area sign.

Access: the camping area can be reached by conventional vehicle with high clearance, motorcycle, bicycle and on foot. It is not accessible for caravans, buses and motor-homes.

Number of sites: no designated or numbered sites.

Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car; walk-in camping and camper trailers.

Camp site surface: dirt.

Facilities: none.

Open fires: small campfires with a 2 m buffer are permitted. Firewood must not be collected from the national park or regional park. Ensure fires are put out before leaving.

Generators: permitted between 8.00 am and 7.00 pm. Noise levels must not exceed 65 dB(A) at 7 m from the generator.

Essentials to bring: drinking water, rubbish bags and firewood. 

Bookings: book online, over-the-counter, at a self-service kiosk or by phone.

Mobile phone coverage: poor.

I did not stay here but drove out & looked was able to access the area in my motorhome in & out with ease, also while I was there there was already a set caravan so access for caravan is able to, I guess common sense prevails, it’s a very nice looking area, fishing is available BUT an enpondment fishing licence is required as it’s a stocked dam of Burramundi & Sooty Grunter (Black Bream)
