Camp at the water's edge on the northern side of Cockatoo Island and experience the magic of the harbour. The campground has fabulous harbour views towards Hunters Hill and the Parramatta River.
The camping site includes an unpowered 4m x 4m site, suitable for the maximum of four people. Remember to bring your torch. Sleeping bags and mats can be hired from the Accommodation Office and ice can be purchased on the island.
There is a large camping kitchen available which includes 10 x BBQ areas, a fridge, microwave and a zip boiling water system. Campers need to supply their own cooking utensils, cutlery and plates.
The campground is located on the northern apron of the island and the area is flat with good wheelchair access around the campground. There is an accessible toilet and shower, however please be aware there is a step into the tents which is not suitable for wheelchair access.
Glamping is laid-back luxury camping experience where all the hard work is done for you. It’s perfect if you don't have the equipment or much time to plan, but still want the experience the freedom of camping. Everything is organised for you ready for your arrival - simply bring your clothing, food and non-alcoholic drinks, a good book and your sense of adventure.
Enjoy a unique camping experience sleeping under the cranes of Cockatoo Island and city lights of Sydney, situated in a stunning waterfront location. The package includes a pre-erected Safari Bow tent (3m x 3m), two camp beds with linen, towels, sun lounges, an esky and a lantern.
Bedding can be made up of two single camp beds or one double camp bed.
If you want to bring the family, the two bedroom glamping package is perfect! It includes two tents (3m x 3m bow tents with covered middle communal living area), four camp beds with bedding, towels, a table and chairs for four along with lanterns and an esky. Sleeps up to four people.
Our Heritage Holiday Houses feature two fully self-contained, four-bedroom houses. Perched on the upper plateau in a leafy part of the island, they have been beautifully restored, are surrounded by heritage gardens and have stunning views of the harbour. The houses are ideal for groups of up to ten people.
These charming Federation houses were once home to Cockatoo Island's medical officer and engineering manager when the island was a busy shipyard.
