400 metre boat ramp completed july 2020 definetly 5 star concrete

Large area to suit all types of camping. Powered sites close to amenities. Lovely area.

This place is a hidden gem and I hope everyone does not flock in here so there is no room for me! It is not big, There are about 20 powered sites. More unpowered but most of those are presently under water as work downstream has meant there is no water being released. I have often said the caretaker can make or break these places. No worries here. The caretaker is a rustic kind of ole timer named Tom. He is a cracker and good for a yarn anytime. He has been here 6 years and I hope he stays forever. The park has recently been completely rebuilt and renovated. Everything is new. Buildings, roads, paths, sites, landscaping etc. It looks great and most sites have direct views of the lake which is huge. Apparently 3 x Sydney Harbour. 17 Km to Inverel which is about 15 mins. The park is council owned and stinks of Govt money. Very quiet and peaceful. There is a cafe. Lots of BBQ areas. Tables to eat at outside the cafe on the lawn. Nice big fire pits at every BBQ area plus a few extras. Firewood for sale at the office. You get a big bag for $15. The drive in from the gate is quite long and beautiful. There are resident kangaroos so you need to drive SLOW. It's hilly in here so the sites are on different levels. Most sites seem to be drive through. Our site and those nearby have sullage drains. There are several nice walking paths. Also new. Thoroughly recommend this place for a week or two or just to stop off on the way through the area. Oh, also it's gated, so nice and secure. Talk to Tom about bringing your pet and most requests are granted.
